Myofascial Release Approach is where the therapist applies gentle, sustained pressure for 5mins or more into the fascial system, creating what the patient reports as a feeling of good pain or a good stretch.
Release of the pressure of the fascial system around the muscles, nerves, blood vessels and the osseous structures creates a free mobile environment of these pain-sensitive structures, producing consistent results in relieving pain and restoring functional mobility.
Another aspect of JFB MFR is the sophisticated facilitation techniques called Myofascial Unwinding. The fascial system is a piezoelectric tissue, so when the therapist applies gentle sustained pressure into the fascial system through compression, traction or twisting the fascial system or moving a particular body part, it creates a flow of the body’s bioenergy, releasing fascial restrictions and pain.

Wholistic Occupational Therapy looks beyond the area that hurts to consider the whole person. While traditional rehabilitation may focus primarily on restoring strength, mobility, or a specific physical limitation, Wholistic OT considers how the body, mind, nervous system, daily activities, stress, habits, and life experiences may all influence how you feel and function.
Treatment may combine skilled occupational therapy, myofascial release, therapeutic movement, body awareness, relaxation and nervous-system regulation, and individualized education to address restrictions while helping you return to the activities that are meaningful to you. This whole-person approach is consistent with occupational therapy's broader focus on physical, psychological, environmental, and personal factors that influence function and participation.
Unlike massage, the goal is not simply relaxation or working on tight muscles. And unlike a treatment approach centered primarily on a particular joint, muscle, or movement impairment, Wholistic OT connects hands-on treatment with function—how you move, work, sleep, manage stress, care for yourself, and participate in everyday life.
Simply put: we don't just treat the painful area—we consider the whole person and help you move toward greater comfort, function, awareness, and well-being.
